POSTDOCTORAL SCHOLAR
B.S., M.S., University of Malaya; Ph.D., National Taiwan University and Academia Sinica
Chia Yen Liew is originally from Malaysia and holds a B.Sc. in Applied Chemistry and an M.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Malaya. She then moved to the Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences at Academia Sinica in Taiwan to work as a research assistant under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Chi-Kung Ni. She later obtained her Ph.D. in Molecular Science and Technology from National Taiwan University and Academia Sinica under the guidance of Prof. Ni. Her research primarily focuses on developing mass spectrometry methodology to determine the structure of carbohydrate isomers and understanding the carbohydrate dissociation mechanism in a linear ion trap mass spectrometer. In her free time, Chia Yen enjoys swimming, hiking, and spending time with friends, especially for good coffee and pancakes.
